I don’t think there’s been a time before Leave Home came along that I felt like I’d really managed to completely piss a game off. Oh, I haven’t nearly enough fingers for the amount of times a game has managed to piss me off, but y’know, never before have I felt like I’ve done something [...]

Well, blimey. You see, we at xnPlay don’t just sit on our arses all day long criticising games – oh no, sir. Sometimes we make games for others to criticise too*. Hence, no review here beyond xAD’s one line write up in the round up. Obviously, before I go any further I’m going to recommend [...]

[In case you hadn't noticed, Echoes+ is now out so here's a timely bump of our preview/review of the game. At 240 points, it's an absolute steal. Go grab it!]
Readers, if I were to make a list of the most hateful phrases in games journalism it’d look something like this:
1. If you like [this] you’ll [...]

This game instantly turned me away when it appeared for two reasons. One, the box art, while representative of the in-game graphics, is crap. Two, the headshot has completely destroyed the FPS genre for me. But that’s a rant for another place…and I’m probably looking for a different FPS experience than the masses are when [...]

A game that didn’t get a lot of notice when it arrived, Shield Defense is a bit like a yoghurt when eaten by a blonde. There’s a layer of uncomfortably sour stuff to get through before you reach the yummy fruit. (Does that joke even work any more? Hands up folks who remember that yoghurts [...]

DID jOO? DAT IZ SOO KEWL!
Untypeable name aside, ZOMB1ES is exactly the game I’d like to see more of on the Indie Games service: cheap, impulse-buy games which set out to do one thing, and do it well. 80 Points is so easily justifiable, if the game is quite fun, people will have no problem [...]

Well, it’s about time for another Round Up (yeehaw). And the cattle to be rounded up this time are the Space Shooter games. All of them spacey, most of them shooty and one of them actually good. Let’s get to it!

Update info here.
In which we admire the use of language in a title that could only be a game. Or a shit bunch of indie kids playing fey guitar music. Either/or.

(Note: As this blog won’t handle Japanese characters, I’ll refer to the game with the English text from the title screen. Not sure what we’ll do with Japanese games without any…)
This is what would have happened if Untitled Prologue wasn’t awful.
