The 1.5 update makes the game a lot better IMO. Now if I just could not suck I might be able to complete it.

I took a quick look at this, probably the last thing I checked out before my games list finally kicked the bucket and refused to load anything. I really must get onto MS this week and sort that out, but that’s by the by.

I know this is going to sound *really* shallow, but it’s a game that would really benefit from a more arcade graphics style. It’s absolutely crying out for that sort of thing or even something that stands out a bit more “unique” a la Gibbage.

Yours won’t load AT ALL? Oh, man, that’s messed up. Mine takes between 1:45 and 2:30 to load, and has hung a few times, but it still works at least.

It started taking a while aaages back, figured it might have been the amount of junk I gathered on it so cleared some crap off the HDD, did the cache lark. No change of note or worth.

Went to taking an age to populate after every single game to letting me play one then locking up (neither made it much fun to use and got quite off putting), last week it fucked up a nut and won’t populate at all.

I think the phrase I’m looking for here is “crap”. Been so busy running between home life/altered sleep pattern and trying to break the back of this new game that I sort of just left it for a bit till I was a bit more calm before calling MS all the cunts under the sun ;)

I’ve got similar issues with my gamelist – there’s somewhere in the region of 200 XBLA/XBIG games sitting on the HDD.

Clearing the cache and deleting games didn’t help improve the speed any, but deleting old XBIG save-games appeared to have some impact. Have you tried this? Getting to them is a bit convoluted: you have to go to the file manager under the “System Settings” section and then find the “Community Games” item – this is actually a folder with all the individual XBIG games and their save games listed underneath it.

Generally, anything listed with a size in kb (e.g. 40kb) is a save-game – but you need to be careful, as some save files don’t have the same name as the parent game.

Something else which may or may not help: logging out of XBL completely fixes the problem: the games list is instantly populated. Admittedly, you then need to log back in to play XBIG games, but it’s one hack.

Though it’d be nicer if Microsoft could cache whatever it is they’re doing each and every time you return to the games list!

In my case the problem seems to be linked to my Gamertag’s history. I’ve played just about every demo going since launch and that’s what causes the list to take ages to populate.

I ended up creating another Gamertag which I use just for trying new demos and the problem on that login has all but disappeared.

It’s not the perfect solution, but it might be worth trying just for XBIG stuff as in my experience the more of those you play on your proper Gamertag the worse the problem will get.

I might try that – it is a bit offputting having to literally wait 60-90 seconds for the games list to reload, especially when you also keep banging against the 8-minute demo limit…

I cleared out all the non essential saves, I try and keep on top of that having been caught out quite early on wondering where my diskspace was disappearing to – plus when firing stuff over to the 360 myself I have an awful tendency to clog it up with shite and need to delete stuff.

The logging in/out thing worked for a while, it’s died for my main tag now completely.

I’ve stupidly not tried my other account. I’ll give that a go and see if it improves things – I think it’s only got that crappy free US only shooter tied to it so I’ll check that out in a mo.

It’s been steadily getting to the stage where it’s becoming difficult to impossible to review anything as ducking in and out hasn’t been an option for a while so cheers for the tips chaps, I’ll give ‘em a punt.

Just thought I would mention that Nasty is now available for 80 points… so if it was too expensive for you at 400, you’ve got no excuse now! Also the new 1.75 patch adds a bit of polish to the game.

      Wow! That’s quite a drop!
The game is a steal at that price!
