I have to admit I am a bit put off by the blatant Mario Kart-isms in the graphics. Hope that changes.
I’m sorry to hear that you feel put off by the graphics. It was our intention to make the game very retro looking, and by taking away any 3d models and anti-aliasing, there are many SNES, DOS, and GBA games that are technically at the same graphical level. My hope is that the demo will convince you of the time and effort we took to design the characters, tracks, modes, and leaderboards.
I love retro graphics! What I don’t love is the way it borrows so heavily from Mario Kart. I half expect it to be a cheap plastic N64-ish controller that plugs into the TV set with a title screen that proclaims “Malio Kars”
Bought the game yesterday. It’s done very well. The only problem is the button used for gas. The “A” button is not in a comfortable position to hold constantly. We are getting thumb cramps after two tracks. The option to customize controls or just making the “X” button or a trigger button the gas would make this a great game with great controls.
