I remember having a solitaire set at one point, until the cat decided it was a good idea to try and eat the marbles which were used to play. Pegzo avoids this possible situation (and costly vet bills) by being a digitized version of the game.
Instead of marbles, you have a set of characters which are faces with large legs. You can then direct them to jump over each other, which removes the pegzo in between. The puzzle element comes from trying to make the last pegzo land on a specific spot.
The game starts off surprisingly tricky, but soon you start to understand the basic tactics you need, and the game becomes quite addictive. It’ll also tell you when you’ve made a game-ending move, and allows you to undo moves infinitely, which makes the game less frustrating.
Aside from the fun puzzle gameplay, Pegzo also provides a pleasant experience for the eyes, with nice 3D characters and smooth, well produced menus and animations. Graphically, this game is well above most games available on the service.
So what’s the catch? The only problem with this game is that it will become repetitive after a while. The gameplay appears to remain the same throughout the game, with little to mix it up with.
Pegzo is a great little game, and is a recommended download at 400 Points. Less than this, and it’d be a must buy. It was developed by Wam Games.
This title was 400 points at the time of writing this review but has since been reduced to 200 Points.

Too much for me at 400 points, I didn’t find the different puzzles to be very entertaining. More like frustrating.
Normally, I find these damn peg-jumping games tedious and frustrating. That did not stop me from wasting a childhood’s worth of Cracker Barrel dinners trying to solve them. Pegzo manages to remove two of the biggest annoyances of the physical version by giving you unlimited undo and an indicator of when you’re screwed.
If you’re not someone who finds this kind of puzzle compelling – well, Pegzo isn’t anything but the puzzle game it says it is, so you’re probably not going to enjoy it. If you’re someone who enjoys this cranial torture, then you’ll probably enjoy Pegzo. And if, like me, you’re someone who’s always found these compelling but hated trying to solve them, Pegzo may be the game that finally makes it “click” for you.
One thing I do want to point out – this is exactly the kind of thing I’ve been hoping to see on Community Games. A really solid implementation of a niche game. No major publisher would ever touch a peg-jumping game – the market’s just not there – but a CG developer… that’s another story, thankfully.
Hey guys, thanks for the review
We realised pretty early in that we got the price point wrong, as the dust has settled 200 MSP seems to be the general norm for Community Games. There is a wait period for price changes so our hands have been tied, but as of today, Pegzo is now available from the Marketplace for 200 points ! enjoy
