Oh dear. It’s never good to be presented by a large screen showing you how the game uses almost every button on the controller. Even less so when you find yourself having to refer back to the controller layout screen with only 4 minutes in a trial to test a game. Now, whilst the latter certainly isn’t the authors fault – there’s little to no need for the game to use every single button when it’s really quite an elementary tower defence game set in 3D space.
Torino-X is an ugly and cumbersome take on the tower defence genre, attempting to meld a 3D shooter with the standard “purchase blah tower of power” mechanics present in a million and one games of its ilk. With little or no concept of motion or speed whilst navigating the ship, the aforementioned use of nearly every button on the controller and ropey presentation, we at xnPlay weren’t too impressed with this fellow and found our patience tried long before the time limit was up.
Torino-X is 200 Points.
This title was 200 points at the time of writing this review but has since been reduced to 80 Points.
